This is a chance for you to deposit your two cents, to rave about the things that anger you, to spout off about things you can't change, to vent your annoyance at the world.

Here's Mine:
Food allergies. I already know I'm allergic to dairy products (not lactose intolerant--an actual food allergy. Yes, there is a difference. I'm not supposed to have anything with dairy even in it), and my doctor also suspects that I may be allergic to gluten, as well. Eating foods that you're allergic to can cause a host of issues that you're not even aware of. Not just hives or something, but all sorts of problems that stem from your body reacting to what it sees as a toxin, including problems with digestion and weight gain and symptoms that put you at higher risk for other problems like hypertension or diabetes.
So I've spent the past two weeks not touching anything with dairy or gluten.
Now, for perspective, products that have dairy are all the things that have powdered milk solids or even calcium stuff even in it. Most chocolate has some sort of milk, even dark chocolate. Even "non-dairy creamer" has traces of milk in it. So no milk, nocheese, no yogurt, no chocolate, and no anything with any of those ingredients.
Gluten is in everything made from wheat or rye or about a dozen other things. So that means no bread, no pasta, no salad with croutons, no chicken that's breaded, etc.
Do you have any idea how limiting it is to not be able to eat anything with dairy OR gluten? I mean, one or the other might be doable, but both??? Or how about to watch other people around you eating things like brownies and donuts and breaded chicken and pasta, and not be able to have any? It is extremely frustrating, believe you me!
So that's my rant for this week. Your turn! Leave your rant in the comments section.

People in church who are stuck in a rut and won't reach beyond their comfort zone. I've been trying to campaign to change my little corner of the world by encouraging people to play musical pews every other Sunday and get to know someone new. It's amazing how many people love the idea, but still more amazing the amount of people who hate change, technology, and who treat young people with little respect. Okay...my rant is done. lol.
I ranted about dieting on my blog today... so yeah, I'll just stick with the theme.
I hate trying to lose weight, especially when I don't lose any!
There, that's my rant for the day!
Nikole--I hear ya! We're fortunate to be in a fairly young church, but even so you'd be amazed by the number of people who want to do things just because that's the way we've always done them!
Krista--ME TOO!!!!!!!!!!!! Check into food allergies. Granted it's irritating (as I've obviously mentioned :) but if you cut out what you're allergic to it can help your body function better, including helping weight loss.
Just curious, when/how did you find out about your food allergies? We think that may be part of Ryan's problem, he has had tests done in the past, but we think it may be time to do some again now that he's older.
Tiff--
I found out about the dairy about a year ago. My mom goes to a chiropractor who does applied kinesiology to find out food allergies. I don't know how old they have to be, but we'd like to get our kids tested. So you might look for someone like that in your neighborhood.
Just the very thought of a free time to rant is overwhelming. Can I rant and rave or is it just rant. If its just rant I would have to say I went to the ice box to have a hidden little private party with the last of the ice cream there only to find the box, but contents I had eaten some time ago. Why do I do things like this?
For some reason, this just showed in my RSS! I'm lactose- and gluten-intolerant (thankfully not allergic, I simply could not give up my dark chocolate). It took a while to get used to, & eating out can be a major pain, but it's worth feeling ever so much better. :) The only thing I really miss is sandwiches. I love sandwiches! Gluten-free bread just isn't the same...
